Adolph Coors stowed away to America at the age of 21 with a dream of brewing great beers. He realized that dream in 1873 on the banks of Clear Creek in Golden, Colorado. Today, Coors Banquet is an American classic, and Coors Light is the second-most-popular beer in the country. Coors is now on its fifth generation of family leadership, and members of the Coors family still regularly sample the beers that bear Adolph’s name.
Pete Coors gives a quick history of his pioneering family brewery — starting with the founder, his great-grandfather Adolph Coors

COORS BANQUET
Coors, nicknamed the "Banquet Beer," was first introduced by Adolph Coors 1873. According to legend, thirsty miners in the late 1800s threw celebratory banquets with Coors as the honorary beer because of its superior craftsmanship. Prior to its nationwide distribution in 1981, Coors built a cult following, with presidents, movie stars and many others making special trips out west to buy it. Coors is brewed in the Rockies for a uniquely crisp, clean and drinkable taste. 4.9% ABV

At Blue Moon Brewing Company®something is always brewing – literally and figuratively. That’s because everything we do starts with creative inspiration. And that was true from the very beginning. In 1995, our head brewmaster Keith Villa, put a new-world twist on the old-world art of brewing and created a refreshingly unique take on the classic Belgian Wit beers he had grown to love while studying brewing in Brussels. By taking inspiration from the classic Belgian Wit recipe and then tweaking it with Valencia orange peel and adding a touch of coriander, Keith crafted a beer unlike any other. The result was Blue Moon Belgian White*. Beer drinkers really loved its subtle sweetness and citrusy flavor. Which just goes to show that life is a lot more interesting when something’s brewing.

BELGIAN WHITE
It started with our brewmaster, Keith Villa, wanting to craft a beer inspired by the flavorful Belgian Wits he enjoyed while studying brewing in Belgium. He brewed his interpretation using Valencia orange peel versus the traditional tart Curaçao orange peel, for a subtle sweetness, and added a touch of coriander to provide balance. Then he added oats and wheat to create a smooth, creamy finish that’s inviting to the palate. As a final touch, he garnished the beer with an orange slice to heighten the citrus aroma and taste. Its natural unfiltered appearance adds to the depth of flavors in Belgian White*. 5.4% ABV
